I was driving home alone last nite from my boy's place where I had my very first encounter with a road block. You wouldn't know how foolish and embarrassed i was. This was how it went:

*The police officer waves his lighted stick indicating for me to stop*
*I stopped my car and onli managed to wind down my window 15 seconds later* (he had to stand there and watch me fumbling for the buttons while the traffic behind me was getting heavier)
Me: 'Hello! Happy New Year!!'
Police officer: 'Hi, are you still on probation license miss? (pointing at my L plate)'
Me: 'Yup! why?'
Police officer: 'How can you drive without your headlights?'
Me: ' Oh shit! sorry i forgot!' (immediately turned on my headlights)
Police officer: 'Do you know you can get fine for not turning on your headlights?'
Me: 'Ya i know, so sorry i totally forgot about it!'
He went on asking where i was going and where i had came from. Lucky he didn't give me a ticket for that. Guess he was too tired coz he din even bother checking my driving license. Thankyou mr policeman. I will remember you, i hope.

Work has been hectic that i cant find time for myself. Speaking of which, I've juz received my time-table for my brigding course which onli commerce in april. I've decided to work till end of this month to have a month free for myself and my boy b4 i officially start school! Not that i hardly have time with him but even though i get to see him everyday (except when either one of us is overseas) since the day we got together, its never enuff.

I PASS MY DRIVING TEST!!!
With onli 4 points!
I can drive now! This is like the best birthday gift for myself!

While i was waiting for my tester to arrive, I was praying so hard that I wouldn't get Route 6 coz its one of the most difficult one out of the rest. As my name was called, the instructor was like, "Amanda - Route 6". Shit. I was so afraid that I was gonna fail. He changed the whole route and I wasn't given any U-turn or E-brake. Lucky me! I met a few of my other instructor while i was taking my test. When i got back to the office to collect my driving booklet, one of the staff showed me a list of numbers which some of the instructor had left coz they wanted to know how i did. If it weren't for them I wouldn't be able to do it. Desiree and dawn were oso there to witness my reaction when i got my results. haha. They even took the queue number for me even before i got my results. Thanks babes! Also, a big thank you to all those who wished me luck the day before and on the actual day! Including daddy who called from Athens =) *loves

I've been realli busy ever since i started working. As you can see, i haven't been blogging for some time. Its so hard to keep a balance with the time spend with you, my family and friends.
My schedule now is like:

1) Work - Mon to Fri (sometimes on Sat)
2) Teaching tution - Mon, Wed, Fri nite
3) Driving lessons - Depends

Today is my first day at work with Singapore Exchange (SGX). For those who haven't heard of such company, they deal with the buying and selling of stocks, futures, derivatives, etc. of listed companies. Basically, I am working with a team of 8 in the Marketing Department of Retail Business. Im realli new to the stock market, so hopefully there's alot of things for me to learn along the way and to gain some experience in the working world.

My job scope is actualli attend meetings (almost everyday), work on projects, attend launches, call stockbrokers/remisier etc. A very stressful job i must say. Trying to understand how the stock market works is already a huge challenge for me.

Working life isn't as easy as it seems to be. What in the world am i getting myself into?

By the way, my office is at shenton way, so anyone working there can meet me for lunch! haha!

Ladies nite at Phuture with SIM mates. It was packed like nobody's business, well i guess since liquid room is no longer around, there's not many good places to club anymore. You see the same people all the time. I hardly had any air to breathe. Juz trying to get around from one end to another could take around half an hour squeezing through wet and sticky pple. It was an unpleasant feeling. But i must say that we had our fun before the crowd came. I think im getting too old for clubbing. Haha, funny how tired i can easily get. Its like when u reach a point where ur're juz sick of it, that's wad im feeling right now. I juz need a break.

I had to teach tuition till about 10 and i've got involved in an accident during my driving lesson which i mentioned about eariler and there's alot of stuff which need to be done. I got into an accident when i was having my driving lessons. This is the letter i had to sign regarding the responsibility of providing information to the Insurance company about the incident.

This was what happened - I was having my driving lesson around 5 plus in the afternoon. The traffic was pretty heavy during that time. I was happily driving along Eunos Link as my instructor started praising me for my good driving skills while we were on our way back towards the CDC Centre at Ubi. The traffic light in front turned red so naturally i stopped behind a few cars. A while later, the traffic light turned green and the cars in front of me were slowly moving off. While i was doing my half-clutch technique to get my car going, there was a loud bang. At first, i thought i had stalled my car due to the poor half-clutch technique which i had done eariler, but later, my instructor told me that the car behind had hit us. My instructor got out and talked to the Indian driver and got him to follow us back to the Centre to settle the dispute. It was pretty embrassing for me coz i had to get out of the car and let my instructor drive. Moreover, we were in the middle of the road and there was a bad jam due to the accident. And as u know, typical Singaporeans would juz stop and look and the accident, making the jam even worst. While the Indian driver was obediently following us back to the Centre, another accident happened a few cars in front of us and the jam was getting from bad to worst. The next thing we knew, the Indian driver was out of sight. We lost track of him, so we went back to the Centre hoping that he would appear. But he didn't, lucky we took down his license plate number but according to the people at CDC, it wasn't good enough. We had to file for a police report for a hit and run case. There's so many forms to be filled, pictures to be drawn, it was a tedious process but an interesting lesson learnt. =)
